Malgudi Express: From the pages of RK Narayan to the railway tracks of Mysore. - Vageesh

Travelled in this train from KCG to YPR on 01/05/18. The loco in lead was KJM WDP-4D 405XX series. There is Pay & Use AC Waiting hall at PF#1 at KCG(Falaknuma side) and they charge Rs 30/hour. There is no IRCTC water vending machine at PF1 while on PF#2, it is there. For lunch, only lemon rice(Rs 19) is available on PF#1. Rest serve only chips, frooti, water bottle, cold drinks, etc. There is one CCD shop for junk food lovers at PF1. There is one Railway Museum which charge 10 Rs and every railfan must visit it.

70) is served by private vendors around Kurnool City & Dhone. At Gooty station, idli-vada & Dosa (Rs 30) is available and it is good.
Almost, all passengers travel from KCG till YPR as indicated by digital charts on PF1&2.
A quick analysis also reveals that WL16 in 2A will lead to confirm seat while above that will lead to RAC.
In 3A, Till WL29, the passengers got confirmed seat while WL30 to WL37 will lead to RAC. There is a bleak chance for ticket to confirm onboard.
SWR should augment more 3A & 2A coaches.

Soup: Manchow Soup with Bread Sticks and Butter. Rating: 10/10

Dinner: Two options were available, Indian and Continental. I opted for Continental. Dinner included Brown Bread, Pasta, Boiled Veg, Continental Chicken Curry (Paneer for Veg), Dry Chilly Chicken (On Special Request). Rating: 10/10.

Morning tea with Digestive Biscuits. Rating: 9/10

Breakfast: Cornflakes with Hot Milk, Mixed fruit jam, Brown Bread, Veg Cutlet (Omlette for Non Veg) with French Fries and Boiled Veg. Rating: 10/10.

Overall Ratings: 9.5/10. Lip smacking food! 😋😋😋

My favourite train never disappoints me! It's saff behaviour was very good and overall punctual! Toilets were clean throughout the journey. That's why Howrah Rajdhani is my favourite train! Love you Howrah Rajdhani! ❤️

Traveled in this train on Feb 2024, the train arrived at PF 2 at MAQ. Only limited food items were present such as Veg Biryani, Egg Biryani and packed chips, fruit cake and tea.
Since the train stops for 40 mins, one can go to PF 1 and get Curd Rice, Lemon Rice, Masala Dosa, Chapati Curry, Milk, Pazhampudi (Sweet Banana Bhajji), idli, vada.
Also at MAJN, there will be very limited food options.
