Anyway, LPs(Motormen rather) were refusing to operate this 'Midnight' MEMU leaving QLN @ 0030h. Am sure SR will reinstate the now cancelled MAS TPTY MEMU using this 'gift'ed rake!!

yes of course.. In Chennai, 12 is last local train and 4.00 is first local train. And strangely TVC div is running during these period when local trains are given rest...
The question is who is the one who decides the timings of the train?. Is it the authorities in TVC or the ones in Chennai bcoz if it is done by people sitting at TVC then there is no point in blaming the headquarters !!
If a single rake is used for ktym and allp memu,one train is supposed to be trolled else the rake wouldnt make it for next days run..in this case its ALLP memu ..
Even if it is TVC or MAS, we can't blame them. They rake anyway has to be brought back to ERS for next day run. And this is the only way they can bring it back from Kollam.
As such there are 3 more memus with tvc divn. Why kant they come up with a practical sharing arrangement?

Yadukrishnan R 44 blog postsThis train(66310) must be rescheduled from QLN @0300hrs to reach ALLP @0500hrs & thereby ERS @0630hrs and a chain for 16305 Intecity Exp.
Loco pilots not co-operated to run ERS - QLN MEMU. They demanded asst. loco pilot also for MEMU during night service. Railway first provided for two days and denied after that. Service cancelled.(I think train no is 66309)

So finally this train is about to start. Good to see an additional option from Ernakulam till kollam. After janshatabdi express at 5:15 pm there was no train to kollam till abt 11:00pm. This train will definitely help in bridging the gap.
most probably n nxt timetable it may b changd....by makng some changes n timengs... they can make every MEMU daily wth gud timings....by RSA with kollam-ekm (via, kotayam,ALLP),Kollam-nagercoil...
Is it some kind of connection train to help passengers who may want to travel to guruvayur (EKM-Guruvayur passenger at 5am) or maybe catch the ers-kannur intercity express or ernakulam -pune superfast express. But whatever maybe the case its a horrible timing for a MEMU
its more or less a race transfer from qln to ers.. nothing more..
