It was bound to happen. With unnecessary stoppages tacked on, being overtaken isn't surprising.

Lucknowis should start save LKO Shatabdi movement .. or demand for a separate high priority train from Delhi .. as a VB can potentially cover Delhi LKO distance in less than 5.5 hours …
I always thought that LJN-NDLS would be one of the first routes to get a dedicated VB. After all, it even had a similar Tejas service operating in the morning. All IR had to do was scrape Tejas, introduce VB in it's place with same stoppage and make it slightly faster[due to increased acceleration of VBs].
Too many stoppages have killed the aura of Shatabdi. Yes , LJN tejas and Ayodhya Vande Bharat are there. But Shatabdi k alag hi baat thi. IR can reduce its TT by 30 mins
They are instead busy giving it more stoppages, even at useless stations like Phaphund.

I prefer kanpur Shatabdi and Lucknow Shatabdi because of this timings. But fare is somewhat high. So I also go by mail/exp. Also. Whenever I didn't found ticket for going my home town i.e Azamgarh,i split journey and go cnb/lko and then go amh/bsb/gkp/jnu/arj/gct/mau.
