बताया कि उन्होंने एक ज़ोरदार आवाज़ सुनी और एक ज़ोरदार झटका महसूस किया, जिसके बाद डिब्बे पलट गए। लोको पायलट ने पटरी से उतरने से पहले एक विस्फोट सुनने की बात कही, जिसकी जांच रेलवे और यूपी पुलिस कर रही है। रेलवे ने मृतकों के परिजनों के लिए 10 लाख रुपये, गंभीर रूप से घायलों के लिए 2.5 लाख रुपये और मामूली चोटों वाले लोगों के लिए 50,000 रुपये की अनुग्रह राशि का ऐलान किया है। ट्रैक बहाली का काम चल रहा है और 600 यात्रियों वाली एक विशेष ट्रेन शुक्रवार को असम के लिए रवाना हुई। पटरी से उतरने का कारण अभी तक पता नहीं चला है।
