Travelled on 12649 on 2AC after electrification of Bengaluru-Hubballi line, here are my observations.
WAG9-HC link b/w YPR and UBL means that the train crawls at a mere 90 kmph on the 110 kmph-supported track. My train was delayed at UBL by some 1.5 hrs.

Yesterday LGD WAP-7 was in lead from YPR itself due to diversion this train is getting same loco from NZM to YPR
Rerouting to support bus lobby between ypr-kcg. They have instilled some local sentiment to divert this
Ya, it was fastest non premium connection b/w Delhi & Bengaluru, but now no more.
May be to optimize the occupancy of SBC Rajdhani Express they did this and the zonal HQ officers got fastest connectivity with Delhi (along with weekly ubl Nzm SF)
When UBL Londa slip portion of Goa Express got cancelled to compensate the loss this KSK was diverted via UBL
But to cater the demands of zonal hq they disturbed the equations of Bengaluru connectivity with capital. Definitely, somewhere the tendency to earn premium fare through Rajdhani would have played in the minds of SWR officials under the guise of providing Ypr - bay section stations connectivity with national capital.

Coaches are neat. Train arrives in Kacheguda 10 to 15 minutes before time. Much better option than the popular KSR Bengaluru-Kacheguda Express.

Recently i travelled in both the train 12649/ MYS-KCG SF. in my view both are good and neatly maintained. but i will rate MYS-KCG a little higher than SK because of early mrng arrival at KCG. speed wise both are the best and convenient to travel. coaches are super neat and neatly maintained till KCG.
overall the journey is good and best.
SK is good with limited halts. but arrival time to kcg is a pblm.

This WAS the best Sampark Kranti, at par with Rajdhani ~ until SWR screwed it up completely by diverting it through Hubbali and Ballari.
Had superb running times when it used to run via Yelahanka, Gooty, Kurnool, Kacheguda.
From a journey time of around 31 hours - SWR has made it to around 43 hours from YPR to NZM....!!!

Maintenance e is also OK.
LED screens are installed in all AC coaches but doesn't work.
But Train becomes dirty as no cleaning is done through out journey.

I have to change at Nagpur, and it's either this or the B'lore Raj. This train suits me better as I have a lesser layover at NGP.
Plus, it takes less time between B'lore and NGP than the Rajdhani. Also, food choices are better which we don't really get in the former.
