The best possible train between Guwahati and Howrah. Nothing more to tell about the Punctuality, most of the time bang on time or run late by 10-20 minutes.
Food is a major concern in this train. Few years back this train does not use to carry any pantry car, lately PC was added. Food given by the PC is good, well not the best but good, u can depend. Those passengers who don't want to have the PC food can avail for e-catering available or an another option is that this train pulls in at NJP at 0730-0745 pm, hence if anyone wants can have food from local vendors from NJP.

Coaches are well cleaned and maintained. SL coaches are also cleaned well, but the SL coaches are quite rusty and old. Thanks to OBHS if they haven't maintained the cleanliness then with the rusty old coaches it would be hard for the passengers. Apart from that all good.
For Railfanning, it is very good. Would encounter Rajdhani in between. Hence in total a very good train.

Saraighat Express has become a bogus train now. Unfortunately, its still best of the worst. It is almost always late these days. I traveled by it last week, and it was 6 and half hours late!

There were times when people used to say even a SL or a GEN ride is better than various 2AC,3AC of other trains in this route.The train used to follow aggressive timings and had minimal stoppages.The speed,galloping action and the priority given to it was awesome

observing your experience it seems that u travel least in this route. that's why you are stating this. The route is scheduled with too many trains from Kumedpur junction and also due to the route's geographical condition its very difficult to maintain the schedule. and there some times for the maintenance, trains of this route r rescheduled specially during winter and rains. And If you say Saraighat express is a bogus train then u better go for flights.

For people travelling from NCB or NOQ to HWH, the quota for these stations gets exhausted too soon.. Changing the boarding point to NBQ and paying 50 extra rupees can often fetch you confirmed seats as there are ample number of seats from the stations in Assam..

SL compartments are very old. So, only 2 charging points in per coach. Inside is cleaned by staffs- well maintained.
Dinner is served very early- within 7 pm. Veg.= rs. 90 and Egg= rs. 100.
AC coaches are comparatively newer.
For 12345, passengers up to MLDT and for 12346, daily passengers between NOQ and NJP may create nuisance by taking seats in SL coaches,

sir its very hard to believe....whenever i've tried to board SL coach of Up Kamrup towards GHY,either I was fined or forced to go to GEN coach...may be I'm unlucky all the time :(

in the strech of NOQ-NJP & then NOQ-NBQ u can find daily passengers always... no matter AC or SL... full of railway employyes in AC coaches,,
and in my view the TTEs of Alipurduar Div. are more polite than LMG or RNY div. and also less checking u'll find in APDJ... so people are fearless in travelling in SL or AC even AC Attendent's berth outside ACs

also because of the fact that there are less intercity trains,DEMUs,passengers in NBQ-NCB-NJP section at any designated time........even if there are some,the running is not punctual(though nbq-smta section is performing exceedingly well after the doubling and is the only solution in GHY-NJP area)

1.KAMAKHYA-NEW COOCHBEHAR-ALIPURDUAR JN INTERCITY
