This Train is one of the most Punctual Trains of IR except Winters when Due to excessive Fog in the Northern Part of the Country it gets delayed. Otherwise it is a Superb Train to travel and Yes after Shatabdi gets the Utmost preference over other SF or Express Trains. Catering is available but Pack Food from Home itself and Yes U can otherwise take something to eat from Ambala , They also Provide Veg Thali at Ambala but only for CC People and it is of not of good quality. Personally i have been travelling in this Train from my childhood and it has never let me down , though now is the right time to provide it with a LHB Rake and increase it's speed as it was earlier the case i.e. 4-5 years back when it used to reach at 10:20 Sharp NDLS and did not have so...

Indeed one of the decent intercities of NR. The only issue with this train is that the rake remains extremely dirty. No proper maintenance is given at NDLS.
Verka Kheer at Ludhiana, Kulche Chhole at Ambala, Bread Pakoras at Panipat...you could try these on the way...they are tasty and good...!!!!
This train is very punctual except winter but very rushy and General ticket passenger are also seat in resrvation coaches ... All the intercity exp has same problem

Lalit Kumar Singh Gaur 388 blog postsThis train mostly have seats available even if on irctc it shows waiting, better option is to take a general ticket and talk with TTE they will give you seat in normal sitting just for another 100-150rs, and if somehow you board this train on bad day like train is running full again get a general ticket and wait till ambala you don't need to talk with the for seat, as train gets almost empty after ambala.
