Travel Diary- Yesterday i travelled in 12038 LDH-NDLS shatabdi. Since it was sunday, there was a huge rush and all trains were having long waiting list. Shane punjab CC and 2S,both were jampacked, so i decided to book a ticket in 12038. To my surprise, this shatabdi was almost 90% full on sunday evening while starting from ludhiana. Coaches were clean enough and toilets were clean too.Tea and snacks were served as soon as we started. It departed 10 mins late from ludhiana. Then there comes the next stoppage,Dhuri. Not even a single passenger boarded this train from dhuri. Just after 15 minutes, train reached sangrur. Good amount of people boarded the train and now it felt the occupancy of 100% has been achieved. Next stoppage were Tohana and Jind. Like dhuri, not even a single passenger boarded this train. there. After we crossed Jind, Dinner was served. One word for dinner-Pathetic. Then we reached rohtak. Few passengers deboarded at Rohtak but none of the passenger boarded from Rohtak. Aftre crossing rohtak, pantry boy came in asking for tip in lieu of that shitty food.
At last we reached NDLS 5 minutes early before its scheduled time of 10:10 PM.
Overall it was average journey where i didnt got a feeling of shatabdi. I could have travlled in Shane punjab Chair car itself which takes exactly same amount of time to reach delhi from ludhiana. If we exclude the amount charged for dinner too, then also shane punjab seems economical.
