Friends , bangalore metro is already operating on two stretches already. Mg road bypl, swastik peenya, but one thing I ve noticed is that the power for the metro locos is quite interesting. In delhi there were overhead poles and wires like regular electrified tracks. But neither do our metro tracks have these poles , nor do they smoke , so any idea how power is given to these locos?
I suppose Bangalore Metro system is using Third rail System, which is also a 750 v DC current, which is fed via the shoe pads attached near the wheels

The only obvious answer is the power is suplied from the rails....
U are right, cos the bmrc website gave me the same info. But how exactly does this technology work? Can it be used instead of user ohe for conventionsl tracks . Like bullet trains. Does it save or increase costs?
