12489 wdg4 of Siliguri with BCNHL on its tow , crossing 17 no LC near Patiala Station. Some track maintenance work was also going on at the LC.

WDG4 are frequent visitors here, specially from SGUJ, LKO, SBI, BGKT. As normally all freight trains passes from here are originating from eastern side. We also see ALCO with freight from Kazipet, Andal, LKO, Gonda, Maula-Ali (MLY) , Katni , etc.

only thing that comes b/w Siliguri WDG-4 & Patiala FCI rake is the massive obstruction by ECR...all the food grains loaded rake from Punjab to various parts of North East usually follows the SRE-MB-LKO-GKP-MFP-KIR route(as DNR-PNBE-BJU route is not fit for goods service)..but lack of infrastructure @ SEE division abnormally delays the trains & causes massive detention of wagons.As a result,a wagon after unloading wheat @ FCI,Dimapur should normally return PTA within 8 working days,taking 10-13 days for return.
Yes, they were removing a few old steel sleepers left outs with concrete sleepers, I think they just replaced 3 or 4, rest were already CS.
That is why the DFC is coming up fast to unclog the traffic on the main line routes, specially by freight trains and the DFCCIL is more concerned about the Eastern DFC first. They have planed Junction arrangements for this route at Rajpura (RPJ). Check the EDFC route. #technical #dfc #edfc
A BCNA or BCNHL rake comes almost daily to load food grains here at PTA.
