anurag.brindel 4 blog postsCan two more 2A coaches be added to this train ? A WAP4/5/7 can haul upto 25 coaches. So there is ample space to add some more coaches. 2A tickets are always in demand and in Waitlist.Elderly passengers feel comfortable travelling in 2A coaches .The fare is also not much higher than 3A but nearly half of that of 1A.
a wap-7 can haul upto 30 coaches easily...if loco was the only issue then many trains could be made 24-30 coaches..in a station like hwh,if you're getting a 24 coach train,then you're lucky...many of the important trains having 13-18 coaches only.
What is the issue then ? In a station like Howrah ,Platforms 8-14 and 17-23 can accomodate trains with more than 25 coaches easily.Again we already have 3 AC-3 tier coaches and 8 Sleeper coaches. where as there is only one 2A coach. Nor sure why my fellow blogger mentioned that 2 SL and 1 AC-3 tier coach demand is more and needed before 2A.
