The lower berth (LB) in the 2&3-tier compartments is like a hot cake and everyone opts preference for it. The berth preference in the reservation form should only be admissible to senior citizens. With the present arrangement in the software, all the lower berths are given away during the first few days of opening of advance reservation. Passengers booking after that do not get lower berth even for senior citizens. Railways should allot berths serially without entertaining any preference for berth to passengers who are not senior citizens.
No One has the right to do like that, if the option is given to choose the seat then it should be provided otherwise whats the fun of that option. Whether it is senior or middle aged or youngsters whoever it may be if berths are available then they can be allotted instaed of waiting for someone expecting to fill these berths in future. this is like throwing away water in the bowl expecting rain water.
