coudnt understand ur logic for lesser fares though the capa ity is 10% more the cost of lhb coach is 2.8cr vs ord coacb 1.4 cr and fit to ru. at upto 130kmph but unfortunately fasyer running on main line are not gi en these coaches u should be happy wwitb the kind of comfort ur getting for less
if capacity is just 10% more than regular single deck coach, and cost is 2x , I don't understand your logic (or rather railways) to build these coaches. anyways i'll get figures on fares and no of seats and share with you to explain my take
Here I am with figures: 120 seats ind double deck, vs single decker which has 78 or 72, you can calculate the %age.
350 is fare in Intercity for INDB-BPL,

19324 habibganj indore intercity express the distance between bhopal and indore is 217 km fare is 350 while double dekker express morning deparature is a direct with 217km fare is 395 difference is addition of superfast surcharge while the third is dd express which leaves at 1435 distance via dewas ujjain is 263 km with 445 fare

Agree with your explanation my point here is reducing a fare by 10-15% might increase the occupancy by 30-40% thus making IR earn more. As a passenger a person is least bothered about what kind of coach he is going to sit, what matters is time and cost and there are many time and cost efficient options out there including other trains, I really don't care personally about this train as iam not a regular commuter to that sector.
