Next Generation is acceptable, but at present, WAP-4 has outnumbered than WAP-7, so not all trains can get it.
Simply it goes under phased manner. :-)

Yes. At Present WAP-4/WAM-4 is sufficient to haul trains. Maybe in future,many trains will be getting WAP-7, but currently the red beast are fit for the job.....:)
""Ratnachal Express gets both WAP-4 n WAP-7, but both of them are worthless when the route itself is mounted with traffic and improper clearance."""-----so an ICE which has more stops should get more priority than trains like amravati and kaziranga which have less stops....first ask for more stops and now blame controllers.....sad

WAP 4 doing Fantastic with this train and moreover it don't have much aggressive schedule that it needs WAP 7
