A genuine demand pending for over 20 years from both cities. The plan is to lay new line parallel to NH-50 Pune-Nashik Highway, still on paper. Don't know when the project will be a reality. If it would have been existent today, it would have proven pretty useful. :\
It will surely benefit for trains..... extra 185 kms from alternate route so much.
this route is realy good for passengers and indian railway. and other thing is dat Nashik is too big and good city but it has not a terminal station.
There should be a separate railway station to start and end point of trains.
