I would like to share An interesting fact about Diesel locomotives....

generated power which is a mechanical power, more precisely ROTATIONAL MOTION available at CRANK SHAFT is coupled with a ELECTRIC GENERATOR which produces high voltage electricity........................................................
>>This electricity is used by ELECTRIC MOTORS fitted in the locos which makes wheels to Rotate with some mechanical
arrangements..................................................................................
So we can say loco is a combo of high rating generators and Motors....same as our ELECTRIC LOCOS,which receives electricity from OVERHEAD TRACTIONS.... but diesel engines produce its own power....
