IRI does NOT have any app per se, and there are NO plans to create an "IRI app". The "IRI app" is your mobile web browser - Opera Mini, UC, Next, Chrome, etc. There is nothing to download. Just open up your mobile web browser and type in m.indiarailinfo.com. This is our mobile website which renders well on your mobile browser. The modern mobile browsers are very fast, robust, well-tested and do an excellent job of displaying mobile websites.

more... needs to have an "app", and thereafter the app is like the mobile website, with the only convenience that it is available directly on the desktop of the mobile phone, and opens with one touch. But bookmarks partly alleviate that inconvenience as well. So for example, the top 100 newspapers each have their own "app" which is like the website with some cosmetic differences. Same goes for banks, and any other organization that owns a website. The main reason for the creation of these multitudes of mobile apps is possibly for getting buzz and user mindshare through different marketing channels.

For the above reason, our "IRI Express" app was consciously withdrawn from the app store, since we do not wish to duplicate what a well-tuned mobile web browser already does very well.
