the station built in munger city due to upcoming ganga bridge is not huge.it is just an small station with 3 pfs.jamalpur junction will continiue to be major railhead for munger-jamalpur twin cities.
Munger station building looks large and impressive. While Jamalpur will continue to be a major railhead in the near future, Munger station is going to be eventually bigger. It is a district head quarters and after Ganga bridge, its economy will boom, leading to increased revenue from the station. Eventually, Railways will have to develop it further. Munger will get Rajdhani before Bhagalpur, and it will also get electrified in the next few years (Kiul-MGR-SKG) to shift traffic from Mokama bridge. Munger that was denied a railway line in 1861 when the first long distance railway line was constructed to link Calcutta and Delhi is eventually going to get its due to always deserved.
railway will built new jamalpur near daultpur with 9-10 platform. as i came to know from others.
till now there is no any confirmation regarding new jamalpur.some years a go there was plan that ir will scrap jamalpur tunnel and jamalpur junction and will make a brand large station near bindwara(safia bad).but keeping huge cost and length in mind railway scrapped this plan.but in future seeing the importance of munger bridge and twin city surely they will have to go for new jamalpur as there is no space near purabsarai or jamalpur junction.
there is no difference whether the station is located in jamalpur or munger.some 5 years down the line jmalpur will be part of munger municipal corporation.the distance between two cities is only 9 km.seeing the current pace of const. activity on mgr-jmp road both cities will merge soon.
