Hi ..
Just wanna know when a tatkal quota is open .. i mean how many days before one can book tickets in tatkal quota ... Like if i wanna book ticket for 8th apr ... i can book the ticket on 4th or on 5th ... please can any one tell me this ... ??

Booking shall not commence from 2nd, but from 3rd.
But if Panvel doesn has seperate CK Quota, then in order to get confirm berths one has to book on 2nd from Mangala Lakshdweep to Mangalore and...

Whenever ARP opens for a train, it opens for all the stations enroute.In the example cited by Mr.Sanket, the person would be allowed to book ticket on 2nd if he wants to travel on 5th.You would observe this iff you login into ur IRCTC id and check the availability in trains whose ARP has just opened.

What you said is right for GENERAL booking , but for TATKAL it is not applicable.

You need to book ticket from Originating station and later on get the boarding changed.Online system won't allow you to do a direct booking.
