“There is no truth in the claims of the railway officials that running time is being saved by the through trains by diverting them via Duvvada, skipping Visakhapatnam station. On the contrary, much higher expenditure is being made by re-deploying the existing staff to other stations and providing much higher halt timings at lower grade stations, which are ill-equipped to take up cleaning and catering facilities,” says an RTI activist Bhaskar.

With time & more pressure to cope up I think PF in VSKP need to be increased from existing 8 to 14...Then all the trains need not bypass via Duvvada.
Expansion is quite tough but monitoring is a imp focus. As the section has AB system, the halt timings have to b reduced from 20 mins to 15 mins at least for loco changing trains.
Secondly, 2 Switch Shunter are needed to b deployed so that terminating trains can easily b taken away in better pace.
in regular observation, its found that trains are coming in such a rapid way, they stay just few mins outside station for alignment to platforms.
