I had booked 8 tickets for a travel between Kudal and Ltt out of which 2 had a waiting list status after the preparation of the reservation chart and 6 berths had a confirmed status.
Hence i took 2 unreserved tickets and 8 of us got adjusted on the 6 berths.
When the TTE came to for checking, he charged me a fine for travelling without a ticket(even after showing my unreserved ticket), and said that if I had a Waitlisted ticket which was booked from the PRS counter, i wouldn't have had...

The 2 WL tickets were in 1 PNR I guess so they would have been cancelled automatically after charting. So that ticket is useless, PRS ticket would not be cancelled so still valid. That is the difference between PRS and e-ticket.
Boarding with WL ticket even when it is from PRS is still illegal though but the ticket is valid :-)
