My brother booked a tatkal ticket for Train N0:16127 onr 31/1/2015 from Tirunelveli to Alappuzha. He gave his PAN ID as proof while booking. But unfortunately he forgot to take this ID proof while travelling. But he had his Driving licence as ID proof with him. He showed the original Driving Licence and scanned copy of PAN ID as the ID proof, the TTR didnt approve it and charged him a fine of Rs 555/= and he paid the fine. Please note that the Sleeper Class fare for this travel is only Rs:190/= Is the penalty justifiable?
Can anything be done to revoke this fine and reimburse the fine amount?

no xerox or scanned copy allowed.. ID has to b original. TTE right on his part.
Tte is bit strict which is bad luck of passenger...

Yes, I agree & I've seen that with next to my berth passenger when I was traveling in 12809 Howrah Mail (via Nagpur), that person was traveling from Dadar to Shegaon & he did not even had a single ID proof with him, when TTE came & asked about ID proof, he was buttering TTE & TTE took him towards AC coach (B1). Later when he came, I asked what happened, to which he said, that he gave Rs.50 as bribe. Later at Shegaon when he alighted in early morning, to dodge Ticket Inspector at station he walked out of the station through the railway tracks...
