Biplob Kagyung 0 blog postsWhy 12424 and 12423 have Rake Reversal cum Loco Change at BJU other wise NE follows same route from PNBE BJU KIR it doesn't reverses why this rajdhani is reversed.

NE, Mahananda bypasses the main Barauni Jn station and takes halt at Barauni. Most people call it New Barauni, which has only 2 platforms. Whereas, 12423/12424 enters main Barauni Jn, so undergoes loco reversal to take the MKA - PNBE route.
new Barauni is officially an extension of BJU, so shares the same stn code. Some call it Barauni bye-pass station.
