First technical trial of closed door system in a ladies first class coach of Western Railway's EMU Rake, held successfully on special trail run from Mahalaxmi station to Borivali and back.
Automatic door closing system has been primarily provided in W Rly’s Ladies first class of coaches no. 2274 A of EMU rake no. 2273-2274.

The guard will be able to control left/ right side of doors depending upon which side the platform is, with the help of two separate set of push buttons provided for this purpose in individual DTCs
Ø The system will ensure starting of train only after all the doors are closed and similarly doors can only be opened after the train has come to stop.
Ø The door opening and closing time is 2-2.5 seconds.
Ø In case the doors are open in running train due to any reason, emergency brake application will take place and train will stop
