If someone has purchased local train ticket then is he eligible to travel in general class of an express train? suppose i have a EMU ticket from howrah to burdwan then can i travel to burdwan in general class of an express train?

what type of ticket required to travel in general class of express trains and how to book them?
You cannot book them in advance. Go to the stn on the day of journey or a few hrs/mins before your train, stand in the unreserved tkt counter and buy the ticket. It wont be train specific, they will just give u an express gen unreserved ticket to your destination and you can go travel in any express train going to that place.
if your journey distance is more than 200 km then you can buy ticket 3 day in advance...
if less than 200km then on same day
if less than 200km then on same day
