Hi everyone, i want to travel from thanjavur to Bangalore by train no. 16231, Mayiladuturai-Mysore express on 3rd May 2015. I find that the waiting list for Sleeper class has exceeded 250. In 2nd AC it is waiting 35. I would like to know whether such long waiting list, 250 above for SLeeper and 35 and above for AC class get into at least RAC? What is the experience of others?

Neither will get into RAC let alone confirmation. Its a Sunday evening train headed towards Bangalore so it is expected to be full. All these passengers would have booked their tickets 1 month in advance. Try tatkal.
