Hi,
I booked ticket of Mumbai Central - Ahmedabad Shatabdi Exp where boarding is Mumbai Central. My query is can board train from Borivali which is hardly 30 min running distance from Mumbai Central for Shatabdi. Since its morning time & travelling to Mumbai Central with family will be difficult (Travelling time will be 1.15 from Virar by train)
My colleague says its not issue you can board as we do for Rajdhani Exp. Also I checked with station master they says you can board train without any issue. This is most trusted...

You can. Usually they wait till the next stop before marking absent. Incase you are still skeptical, take a copy of your ticket, write a letter requesting for boarding point change from Central to BVI and get it changed from any PRS counter 1 day before. They do it free of charge.
