Grievance Description : Dear Sir, Dhanbad Junction come sunder A1 category of railway station. In terms of revenue genreration it is among the highest railway division. i had visited dhanbad railway station many times but the amenities for passengers are very less and if facilities are installed then they are resrtricted for use. please look into below grivances : 1. Time bound Escalator : escalator are installed at station, but they are switched ON by railway staffs for few hours or when some high rank officer/minister visit Dhanbad railway station. Most of the times staffs doesnt run escalator. This dicrimination should be stopped as soon as possible. I had seen this type of behaviour at dhanbad junction only. 2. water scarcity : dhanbad junction has 8 platforms but in hardly any one of the Taps water comes. People are dependent on vendors. Why not water coolers are installed in all platforms . I recently visited Sonepat Railway station. northern railway has installed RO water plant with water cooler. if a small railway station like Sonepat has this type of facility. then why not at A1 grade railway station like dhanbad. 3. Not enough overhead shade : Most portion of all railway platform of Dhanbad doesnt have overhead shade. Even area just outside Railway enquiry doesnt have enough overhead shade. people face problems in all seasons. request the railway authorities to look into this problem urgently.

Details : The matter examined and detailed remarks are as under: i) Due to nuisance noticed during operation of escalator, it has been decided to run the same on important train time schedule. For continuos running deployment of round the clock staff is required for which action is being taken by concerned department.
ii) IRCTC has already planned for installation of Water dispensor on each platform. Water Coolers are also being insalled with RO at PF no. 4 and 5 and 6 and 7. Water Coolers are available on PF-1 and PF 2 and 3.
iii) Work for Shed at the cost of Rs.70 lakh has already been sanctioned and will be installed in the current financial year. In addition to the same, many works of amenities are sanctioned in the current year like Executive Lounge, Toilets, Stalls and FOB, Integrated Information Sysems, Reservation Chart on LCD, PNR kiosk with touch screen facility etc. After completion of above works, you will see the changes at Dhanbad station.
