We all know that 12802 NDLS Puri Purushottam Exp is hauled by WAP-4 from KGP to PURI.
Now like all of you I have also a Curiosity why WAP-7 can't be provided end to end with this Train. Today found a "Significant Information" from E-Loco which is the "MAIN REASON" of it and I described it here.

I agree, but some small changes can be done like replacing all the Arno based locos to static converters. I've seen some locos with this change, but am not sure if all the P4's have been upgraded. Also, static converter based variable speed drives offer much better control and automation prospects for DC traction motors. While it is not wise to spend on DC traction anymore after having invested so much in the more capable 3 phase drives, it'll be useful to have up-to-date equipment.
