Even better - in cab signalling. Not sure why IR never carried this out.
So once the automatic signalling starts between the stations RAICHUR/RC-GADWAL/GWD then there will be more trains on this rout. what I guess.
Not really. Token exchange territory is not a dampener to frequency of train movement, prior to the Colour light signalling system being widespread in IR, many sections used this with train frequency almost 10 times of what Raichur-Gadwal section currently has. Examples in SCR for instance are the erstwhile SC-NED, SC-DHNE, GTL-DMM-TPTY etc which had quite a lot of trains running(Incl Exp, Venkatadri for instance). Less trains in this stretch is definitely not because of the signalling system.
In-cab signalling is used in Mumbai suburban system ( The official term is AWS - Automatic warning system) and some form of In-cab signalling + Centralized control centers are used in several suburban systems like Chennai.
As far as I remember, In-cab signaling was tried out in the Howrah-MGS section, but was a failure as the track-side equipment was subject to theft and damage by vandals, curious animals etc.
