Traction Motor is the most important part of a locomotive. This motor is mostly a D.C. Series Commutator Motor, therefore it requires regular maintenance.

Yes, WAM-4's are longest running loco as per my knowledge!
I still remember Gitanjali Express used to run with WAM-4 (6P AB-HS) TATA loco followed by brown & yellow strips shinny rake that too at 100KMPH speed!
