wag5 too accelerates very fast and gives a smooth run to passengers, and is the reason mostly use by south eastern for passenger's train then wam,wap etc. here's wag 5 with tata and burdhman passengers,,while kharagpur pass gets a wag7 in charge.

There ARE differences in tractive effort & gear ratio, especially on camel hump gradients, locos have to struggle hard to get across. On a plain land, service of WAP/WDP/WDG/WDM/WAG will be same & those with highest T.E. & H.P. will be the winners, but on gradients, goods class locos will serve better than passenger class, just because of a different gear ratio than P class locos, which(class G) are meant for hauling heavy freights. Due to the same reason, G class locos are used as bankers. Now this doesn't mean P class locos cannot run on gradients.

That is because goods based locos are more focused torque rather than peak speed. This is necessary because of the sheer amount of heavy load haulage they do.Speed isn't such a high factor here.
Passengers loco have gear ratios more tuned for high speeds and accelerations, torque doesn't play a very important role here.
And these means that while goods based locos are powerful enough for hauling passenger trains, the same can't be said for passengers loco. Acceleration and top speed means nothing, if you don't have the required high starting torque.
For

goods loco, the high torque further transforms in acceleration, when the loco is used for lighter haulage, say passenger trains.
There is however one exception to this rule.
I will only speak of electric locos.
The Wap-7/Wag-9 are basically the same loco, with p7 being gear ratio tuned for passengers and g9 for goods.
Yet the p7 generates so much torque that it can haul coal-laden wagons by itself.
When Gmo had all those Wap-7, I have spotted at several instances, when Wap-7 was used for hauling freight trains....

One more reason is there, adra, rnc div don't home passenger locos, so bksc, tata, bndm & even asansol wags come to the rescue. While the wap4s of SRC are directly entering ecor or seldom touching this section, so only WAGs or WDG/Ms from Ptru are running on this route.

this is the truly main reason..of it, rnc dont have locos ,,because allapujha express and Jammu both run fine with wam4 powers that too crossing full hill of Ranchi,,,bokaro to rourkela,,and chopan to rourkela,,it runs fine with wam.
