duty of control room is to observe train traffic and give orders to Train drivers when to Go when to Stop... Enter to Platform or not...
Then how does driver get the information?------------+through signals
So how does this signaling thing works?
When a train move out from a station... Train must pass to the 4 siganl poles to enter the next train to platform..
When it pass first signal it shows red signal... Second for yellow... And whent it crosses the third poleit will show green light for the next train...
When we talk about on tracks ... Untill train passes through 4 station... Next train will not permit to pass through the same point...
So it is very safe and systematic ...
Indian railway cares more about people's saftey... But people always claim about delays... "life is more important than time" :p
