If it is a waiting (or RAC) ticket, it will attract a deduction of Rs. 20 per passenger.
It can be cancelled within
*3 hours for the travel distance being within 200 Kms.

*12 hours for the travel distance being more than 500 Kms.
For the night trains when counters are not open, this period will be extended to 4 hrs. from the opening of counters.
If a ticket is confirmed, from 4 Hrs. before scheduled departure and afterwards within above limits - the deduction will be 50%.
If the train is delayed by more than 3 hrs. from the journey starting station (and the same would have been updated in the system), full refund is granted (may be a clerkage deduction, which I am not sure about, please) irrespective of ticket being confrimed.
