Some were thinking of the feasibility of Dhanbad DD via this route, now you know why it isn't possible.

One thing that I observed earlier that the wire laid beneath is thicker than that of a common OHE wire. Was there any black coating on the bridge, as it seems in the pic ?

I saw three wires. One wire was connected with the bridge through insulator. Other two wires were connected with two insulators. The two insulators were connected with the bottom of the girder. These two wires also connected with the upper portion of OHE Mast. There was a marking of "Pantograph without touching the wire" on the Mast.

That's because it will be permanently connected in that way.
