Trenching and laying of 6-Quad cable work is under progress on Rajpura-Patiala-Dhuri-Bathinda section. #Technical. With this, the overhead BSNL telecom cables shall be removed and the railway communication shall now be connected with this quad cable. This shall also help remove the poles which carry the overhead old communication cables. I spotted the workers laying cable near Patiala Cantt station. The contractor confirmed me that we are bringing this cable from DUI side and laying towards PTA and RPJ.

yes, they are digging and laying this cable from DUI to RPJ. This cable was already laid between BTI-DUI, but DUI-RPJ was pending due to funds. Now the cable is being laid on this section too. With this, all the poles alongside the track carrying BSNL overhead lines shall be removed in view of upcoming electrification.And shall also be used for tokenless work on this section from Kauli to DUI.
Yes, they have now reached PTA station and PTA to RPJ was already connected by OFC. only DUI-PTA was leftout
