The fare in general quota from Howrah to Panagarh in 13009 Doon express is Rs. 140 and the cancellation charge is Rs. 120 if the ticket is for a reserved berth. The refund is only Rs.20. A further increase in the cancellation charge will overtake the fare.
When the cancellation charge exceeds the fare, one will have to pay some extra money to have one's ticket cancelled benefiting the govt's coffer.
If they are taking some amount as cancelling charges. Den IR should provide the customers some amount back other than the ticket fare as compensation for not confirming the WL tickets.
before further increase in cancellation charge, IR will increase fare.
