Usually trains from Tiruveneli/Nagercoil/Kanniyakumari bound for Vasco-da-Gama take the shorter path via Trivandrum, Thrissur (via Kerela).
As such there is a shortage of VSG bound trains from the south eastern part of Tamil Nadu comprising of important cities like Madurai and Coimbatore.
This train if introduced would definitely ease of the rush on the limited number of trains running on this route.
