I feel that Erode-TPJ stretch doesn't enjoy good patronage. I travelled in TPJ-ED passenger recently & the no of windows were greater than no of passengers. Also bus connectivity is superior because of short distance compared to railways. All buses to cbe, tup, & Salem don't follow railway route via erode.
Neyveli Power plant is in near the main line only but chord line was electrified and main line left out.
If main line is electrified it will be a great boon to so many important towns.
However VM-POY is fully electrified.

Tpj Ed pass sets can be extended to Cbe. Cbe Tup will attract travellers.
I'm sorry VM-PDY. I think Pondicherry govt. shared 50% cost for laying electrified BG.
