The Postal department has tied up with Ministry of Railways for booking of railway tickets. The railway ticket booking service will be made available at the following Post offices in Gujarat

This initiative has been taken after successful pilot project at Sidhpur post office. According to sources in postal department, introduction of scheme at 12 post offices is just first phase of the initiative. In second phase, more post offices will come under the scheme. Railway ticket booking/reservation facility at more post offices will definitely bring down rush at reservation centres located at railway stations.
