KAN-PKR is nearing completion, but PKR-MLDT or Bonidanga-Kiul is yet to begin. Its a long way ahead for a MEMU in Malda div, almost 6-7 years from now, but atleast some passenger trains would get upgraded links from Rampurhat like the mayurakhi, or Shantiniketan exp. Good news is that this route has got a new rail bridge, a new LHS & new 60kg type tracks from Sainthia till Pakur. So at many places, speed is raised to 80kph, (target is 100kph) & curve angles also increased. Hope some speed upgradation before Diwali-2016.
