While travelling from DBG/SEE/SV/GKP to NDLS, you might want to skip the Pantry food ( which is OK at best, and has limited choice) and order online/on phone from Comesum to be delivered at Kanpur. The guys from Comesum deliver at your seat in the train.
The food charges are higher than the pantry food, but the food is filling and hot, and the variety is good - you could choose a thali or a la carte. Also the train usually reaches CNB at around 845 - so just the perfect time for a hot dinner.
