I am not saying about 200-300 kms.
And neither we are saying for this single train. I am saying for all long journey trains.
This kind of distance restrictions some time causes seats to be empty for partial distances and which are again taken over by unreserved and WL ticket holders which causes disturbances for those who have reserved tickets.

for 3K long train it need not serve 50- 100 kms
off coarse some areas it will have little vacant that may be for hardly 150 kms near both end which is comparably less and even short distance train have some distance such vacant runs. so distance restriction is must and it will greatly benefit long travellers

Ok...But 1000 km distance restriction is way too much.
If we take this train only, then if some one wishes to take this train from Dibrugarh to Ghy , then he can't get tickets or from Jalpaiguri to Odisha , then also.
I would say 350-400 km restriction is enough.

Yes...thats right...and i think its not good...restriction should be just like Neelachal express (250 km). At most 400 km is enough.
