India’s fastest train is the “semi-bullet”, Gatiman Express, but the ride isn’t on the same track as the hype

Is it a Bullet? Is it a Shatabdi? No! It's the overpriced Gatiman Express!

I agree that journalists look for only faults, but to say that Shatabdi has 4 stops between New Delhi and Agra Cantt. is not even a lie, it's called Presstitution
The article raises some valid issues like how Gatimaan was overhyped in the media and it couldn't meet those expectations. That being said; the article is wrong on many counts. First up, BPL Shatabdi has only 1 stop at Mathura; not 4. Secondly; the price of Gatimaan is not twice of Shatabdi. The executive class retails for around 1.5 times that of BPL Shatabdi. While the train isn't revolutionary; it is definitely evolutionary. IR had to make multiple improvements to the tracks and signals ; not to mention training loco pilots for the speed increase. The speed increase may be minimal; but it is definitely no as small as it seems. From an LP's point of view; it's a giant increase.
