tough to do dat, der will be huge hue and cry due to densely populated belt. the only train which could successfully reduce its stoppage in a bulk was Darjeeling mail somewhere around 2007-08(not sure) where more than half of the stoppages were removed and the train was made a superfast. but that could be done because kanchankanya n uttarbanga were made daily trains and had almost similar timings. if IR can afford another overnighter from patna to howrah, some stoppages can be lifted. vibhuti, introduced for the same reason, is still not sufficient...
