Thanks for bringing this matter up. We are planning to convert Konkan Railway distances to actual distances soon with the help of fellow bloggers.
The topper that I can find is 2405 Gondwana Exp between Bhusawal and Itarsi. Instead of travelling 307 kms via Khandwa, it travels for 690 kms via Nagpur. This is like 125% extra, or 2.25 times the shortest distance.
One more candidate is Nandigram Express between Mumbai and Nagpur. It goes via Nanded and covers 1150 kms instead of 837kms in shortest route. It takes almost 10hrs extra than other trains between Mumbai and Nagpur.
I think the winner is 1272 Vindhyachal Express from Bhopal to Itarsi.Instead of a short 92 km route, it a 738 km long route via Bina-Katni-Jabalpur.
Really amazing!!Surely this train would be the winner.
I doubt if any person would have used this train to travel from Bhopal to Itarsi.
