I have to travel from Bengaluru to Kodai Rd on 25-05. It is showing RLWL 13. From Mysore, it is showing GNWL 1. Which has higher chance of confirming. Can I book the ticket from Mysore and board the train at Bengaluru. I am booking through IRCTC. Pls clear my doubt.

Thanks for that reply, can I be sure that my berth will not be filled by someone else in Mysore since I have not boarded the train. Also, in IRCTC will the quota allocation be based on booking station or boarding station.
Book from Kengeri and put SBC as boarding station. you will have to pay the charges from KGI, but you will get the General Quota ticket, which have more chances of confirmation.
If you mention your boarding point as SBC your berth/seat is safe...IR may alot berth/seat to some one else from MYS-SBC if required.
Put boarding point....!!! Or you seat will be given. TT will wait just for a stop or may be not.
4-5 yr back quota was given AC to the Stn where you are boarding.... But now you will got from booking location plz cnf once...But I'm sure
