HariprasadUnnikrishnan~ 1037 blog postsOnce the traditional RRI signalling system is replaced by Electronic Interlocking system with a fully computerised Visual Display Unit at PGT and opening up of the 5th platform, the train handling capacity of Palakkad Jn. would improve manifold. Expecting the Chennai Palani Express to get extended to Palghat similar to Amrita Exp being extended to Pollachi. Also, in the new TT w.e.f Oct 2016, new trains in the PGT POY PLNI route should be included..

I meant the other route... PGT -> PGTN -> DG -> MDU -> NCJ -> CAPE/KCVL
I don't understand the logic behind asking the extension of Amrita Express... Its the sole EXPRESS based out from PGT/PGTN, the divisional headquaters. Also the facts & figures states that this train is already enjoying good patronage. Then why do ppl want this to be extended when there is a demand already going on to add the removed AC 3 Tier.
If its only with extension & patronage is not an aspect, then why can't we have Cheran extended to POY via PGT ???

I am also against the extension of Amrita Exp . But, as its already running as special train to POY, I believe its difficult to backtrack.. Chennai Palani exp should be extended to PGT on an urgent basis and should be speeded up in the new tt..as the signalling works would be over by now.
Anyhow the yard remodelling & signalling works is over now. Let keep our fingures crossed & see how things would shape up...
