I would like to share with you my experience during my visit to my native place in Kerala. Mainly I want to highlight here the problem being faced by railway and passengers in the train due to hitting of stray buffalo and cows grazing in the railway line on the way hit by the train engine, but instead of throwing the beast far away from the railway line, it fell middle of the track and causing the movement of train very difficult which leads to emergency stopping of the train. The same was happened in my up and down journey. I was travelling in NZM TVC Rajdhani to TCR was hit by a buffalo after Kota jn. between the journey towards BRC. The buffalo trapped inside the WAP 4 Engine of GZB shed, and the driver have to stop the engine suddenly to pullout the beasts parts trapped inside the engine....
This caused a delay of more than one hour in our onward journey. The similar was happened in return journey on Kerala Express. Firstly the WAP4 engine of ED Shed was faced with some trouble and another engine attached with it and continued journey after more than two hours delay. After resuming of journey from BZA and WL station one buffalo was hit by the engine and the animal trapped inside the train and the movement of the train got disrupted and after about another two hours delay they train resumed the journey. Finally the train reached NDLS around four hours delay.
Railways have to do some concrete measures to restrict the entry of these animals into the track by fencing along with the track, or the passengers have to face the difficulty during their journey.
