Hello guys, with the chance of my general ticket stuck on WL and RAc status, I have decided to book for premium tatkal ticket only as I see that its the only ticket which can be bought with free access and without hassle. The fare is just 800 odd rupees more. But it wil be a confirmed ticket as I can see. Moreover, I need 1 information is that is the premium tatkal ticket available from 10am for next day travel or it can be purchased earlier also. Also I wold like to know how many premuim tatkal tickets are alloted for Sealdah to NDLS rajdhani express?

800 odd rupees is just?? okk...whatever...coming to your query, it can be booked a day before the departure date of train at 10am online. total of 105 PT 3a berths and 6 PT 2a berths offered by sdah ndls rajdhani for end to end

one suggestion, pls book a normal ticket, not even tatkal. its just wl 31 now. all premium tatkal berths are used to clear CKWL first and then GNWL. as there are 80 + berths vacant in PT, even general waiting list will confirm for today easily.

That's applicable only for 3A. For 2A I think PT option is better. And why is there no PT quota for 12314? Why PT only exists for trains from SDAH/HWH to NDLS but not the reverse?

Dude....I have 2 ticket for 7th October 2016 from HWH / SDAH to NDLS which has WL 66 and WL 67. And another ticket on 8th October on same route with RAC 22 and RAC 23. God knows when these will be confirmed.
If CRIS is so advanced, then why does not it not allocates the waitlisted tickets? I saw GNWL386/WL292 for 7th October and GNWL410/WL205 for 8th October. Why are so many people booking waitlisted tickets?
So paying a mere 800 bucks per head can get you a confirmed ticket,
...
then why book in General category and undergo agony and tension for 4 months?

Because it is Durga Puja time and it could be extremely difficult to book a confirmed Tatkal and even PT at that time. Tatkal (and also PT) gets booked in just 1 minute or so in those high rush periods. Even if a few PTs remain by luck, one would not have to pay 800 bucks extra. It might be 2000 bucks extra and have seen some maniacs even paying that high premium to book. :D
I booked GEN ticket of that time 3 days back and found that even all GEN tickets got booked within 5 mins. When the rush is so crazy for general, wonder how it would be for CK or PT!!
Surely
...
many of these people booking WL tickets would also try the CK/PT the day before journey but many seem to have more hope on Gen WL getting confirmed till a certain number.
